It is best to make sure the ring you
want machined is bigger with the teeth off, than the ring you are
using on the drivetrain, this is the reason that the large outer
chainring is optimal for this .
Chainrings that are made into
chainguards take the place the large chinring .

144mm fits vintage Campagnolo,
Ofmega, Gipiemme, Avocet and others
135mm fits current Campagnolo and
130mm fits current Shimano, FSA, Sram, Sugino, and many others
110mm fits older mountain and current
94mm fits current mountain and Hybrid
for odd or rare sized chainrings
